2021 - KW1 Collection
For the KW1 collection, Kirse found inspiration in the human form and skeletal framing found in biological design.
The studio explores the idea of creating a minimalistic skeletal foundation for a non-existent framed structure, leaving only the foundation exposed as the final product.
KW1 Chair
The body of the KW1 chair is constructed from FSC approved AA walnut or oak veneered birch plywood and finished using a natural, non toxic oil.
The exterior of the seat is made from ELeather, a recycled leather made entirely from industry offcuts diverted from landfill and bound together using water pressure rather than chemicals. 95% of the water used in the binding process is recycled for future reuse.
The interior of the seat consists of 3 layers. 100% Natural latex foam, coconut fibre and merino wool fleece.
